Evangelische Pfarrkirche

Evangelische Pfarrkirche stands in Germany with neo-Romanesque round arches, massive stonework, and a semicircular apse. Though its appearance suggests medieval origins, Theophil Frey built it between 1903 and 1904. He designed the pews and organ front as part of one complete architectural vision for this village church.

Three oak columns inside preserve the dates 1633 and 1732, salvaged from earlier churches on the same site. An octagonal baptismal font, carved from a single block, reaches further back into local history. Above the altar, three vivid stained-glass windows depict Christ’s birth, crucifixion, and resurrection. A mid-19th-century painting by Elisabeth Horlacher shows Christ preaching at Lake Gennesaret. The pipe organ dates from 1904 and was restored in 1996.

Outside, Ugge Bärtle’s mother-and-child memorial has stood since 1969 for villagers lost in the world wars. Its stone form expresses a longing for peace beside the entrance. Inside, accessible paths and the restored organ support worship and community gatherings.
