Giardino Teresa Pomodoro sits in Piazza Piola, Milan, as an urban garden where cherry trees, benches, and sculpture share space. You see twenty-one cherry trees and eleven pink-granite benches among the greenery.
Spazio Teatro No’hma Teresa Pomodoro created the garden through Milan’s Cura e Adotta il Verde Pubblico initiative. A droplet-shaped pedestrian path evokes water’s lightness and leads towards the nearby theatre. A monument of five cylindrical steps at varying heights displays Kengiro Azuma’s sculptures, including Colloquio, two bronze frogs. Mu – Sevenhundredsixtyfive Goccia also forms part of this artistic arrangement.
Teresa Pomodoro was an actress, playwright, and director who loved Milan deeply. Her sister Livia presents the garden as a gift to the city, connecting nature, art, and public space.
