Chiesa di San Pietro alla Carità stands in Tivoli, Lazio, as a Romanesque Catholic church with a long architectural history. Its recorded origins reach back to the fifth century.
The present building mainly reflects a twelfth-century reconstruction and restoration completed in 1951 after wartime damage. Brick shapes the façade, while three entrances, side windows, and a central circular window organise its front.
Its bell tower rises with cornices and arched windows. Inside, a Cosmatesque floor brings geometric medieval mosaic work into the nave, alongside artworks near the apse and main altar.
The nave contains a patterned Cosmatesque floor. Christ Crucified between the Virgin and St John the Evangelist belongs to the fourteenth century, while Madonna Enthroned with Saints Peter and Paul belongs to the thirteenth.
Both works connect the church with medieval religious art. Romanesque features include semicircular arches, a robust structure, and a prominent tower.
The church also appeared in the third season of Medici. Scenes concerning Girolamo Savonarola showed both the façade and the interior.
