Singapore River One – Mural Trail
Singapore River One – Mural Trail links Clarke Quay, Robertson Quay, and Boat Quay through painted underpasses beside Singapore River. You encounter vibrant scenes while walking between the three quays. Each passage presents a different story, combining Singaporean history, urban folktales, environmental messages, and lively visual detail. The trail began in January 2013 as an art installation project.
At Coleman Bridge underpass, Gaia – Mother Earth, Wild Beginnings, and Going Green bring together nature, folklore, and ecological themes. Boats, fish, and spices fill From the Belly of the Carp. Located in the Clemenceau underpass, that whimsical mural interprets Robertson Quay’s history through Singapore’s past as a busy trading port. Elgin Bridge turns conservation into a community artwork.
The Future of Our Last Wildcat reimagines an urban habitat for Singapore’s leopard cat, the country’s last wildcat species. One hundred sixty volunteers helped create it. Elsewhere, Vintage Timeline traces Singapore’s transformation from a small fishing village into a modern city. Together, the underpasses turn a riverside walk into visual history.
