Banys Àrabs
Banys Àrabs preserves a tenth-century group of Arab baths in Palma, linking the city with Mallorca’s Arab period. The small site contains a steam bath known as the caldarium.
Inside, columns support a domed roof, while star-shaped openings bring measured light into the stone interior. A simple lounge stands beside the steam bath. These rooms show how bathing supported hygiene and social exchange during the Arab era in Mallorca.
A quiet garden surrounds the historic monument in Palma. Plants and sheltered paths create a calm setting near other historic buildings in the old town. The garden gives the baths a secluded character.
The Banys Àrabs are the only remaining example of Islamic architecture from Mallorca’s Arab period.
