La Guido Romano
La Guido Romano is a historic swimming facility in Milan, shaped by architect Luigi Secchi in 1929. At its centre, a rectangular pool spreads across 4,000 square metres. Trees surround the water with natural shade, creating a calm setting within the busy city.
Secchi, also associated with Milan’s Piscina Cozzi, gave the facility the grand architectural character of its era. The water brings people together for swimming, sunlight, and time beside the pool. A special lift supports water activities for visitors with disabilities, making the facility accessible to a wider range of people.
A nearby park adds a bar kiosk for a drink after swimming. The defining view is the broad rectangular basin beneath the surrounding trees.
