Giardino Bazzega e Padovani
Giardino Bazzega e Padovani stands in southwestern Milan as a neighbourhood green space created on a former industrial site. The former site housed the Riva Calzoni factories. Enclosed paths cross the garden, with calcestre gravel bordered by rizzata, a traditional arrangement of rounded stones. A playground has anti-trauma rubber flooring for children.
The garden commemorates public security agents Sergio Bazzega and Vittorio Padovani, who lost their lives to terrorism. Its trees include a large magnolia and an elegant beech. The former factory ground now carries planted paths and tree rows. Rows of hornbeams and Japanese cherry trees line the garden, adding seasonal colour beside the paths. The enclosed layout gives families and children a defined place for play.
Its position near the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation and Museum of Cultures places this green space among Milan’s cultural destinations. Calcestre gravel and rounded stones mark its paths.
