Kunsthalle Kühlungsborn
Kunsthalle Kühlungsborn is a low, elegant Jugendstil building beside the sea in Kühlungsborn, Germany. Around 1900, a reading hall rose here with clear lines, tall rooms and large windows facing the promenade.
Restoration in 1991 brought the building back as both gallery and small concert hall. Up to eight changing exhibitions connect regional artists with international guests, while around fifty concerts explore jazz, guitar and chamber music. A winter cartoon exhibition returns regularly, and wheelchair access makes the bright interiors easier to enjoy.
Sea light enters across the walls with a cool northern glow, while the hall’s acoustics give concerts an intimate character. Look from the high ceiling towards the promenade, where architecture, art, music and water meet in one view.
