Konzerthaus
Konzerthaus Heidenheim stands at the southern edge of Heidenheim an der Brenz city centre. Its late historicist and reform architecture incorporates distinctive Jugendstil details.
Paul Schmohl and Georg Stähelin designed the building after an architectural competition, and construction followed between 1913 and 1914. The facade features musical putti, terracotta plaques, Pegasus, and a faun playing an aulos. Josef Zeitler created these sculptural details in Stuttgart. The building opened in 1914 and has since undergone extensive renovation.
Today, concerts, theatre performances, lectures, receptions, weddings, and conferences take place beneath elegant chandeliers. Wheelchair access adds practical ease. The interior preserves a refined Jugendstil atmosphere, while the facade’s paired putti and mythical figures provide the lasting visual detail.
