Schottisches Kreuz
Schottisches Kreuz is a bronze sculpture by Henry Moore, standing in Maschpark in Hanover, Germany. Created in 1960, it is also known as the Glenkiln Cross.
The sculpture rises on a pillar from an elevated viewpoint, bringing a strong vertical form to the park landscape. Maschpark links Hanover’s city centre with the natural Leineaue area. Julius Trip designed the park, completed in 1913 as Hanover’s first public Bürgerpark. A large artificial pond spreads through the grounds, with inlets and projecting edges shaping views across the water.
The nearby New Town Hall adds a civic landmark to this setting of art, greenery, and water. The park remains protected as a historical monument in the city. From the raised position, you can see both Henry Moore’s bronze cross and the pond’s changing shoreline.
