MEHR! Theater am Großmarkt
MEHR! Theater am Großmarkt stands in Hamburg’s historic Großmarkthalle, a protected building designed by Bernhard Hermkes in 1962. You enter a multi-purpose venue for concerts, musicals, and major stage productions. High cement arches rise above the auditorium, with the highest point reaching 20 metres above the seats. Wheelchair access makes the venue easier to use for visitors with mobility needs.
Since opening, the theatre has welcomed concerts by Sufjan Stevens, Kylie Minogue, and Iggy Pop. Musicals including Dirty Dancing and We Will Rock You have also filled its programme. The Hamburg venue became the German home of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child after extensive renovations. Hogwarts-inspired motifs and themed lighting transformed the interior into a magical setting for the production.
