Ermita de Nuestra Señora de las Nieves stands in Spain as a small religious building shaped by changing use, destruction, and rebuilding. It began its history as a monastery in 1532.

Over time, the monastery became a hermitage, then disappeared amid the destruction of the early eighteenth century. Cristóbal del Castillo rebuilt the hermitage in 1717 and is recorded as its founder. The rebuilt chapel carries both stages of its history within one small building.

Regional hiking and cycling routes bring walkers and riders past this wheelchair-accessible cultural site. Walkers and cyclists often use it as a brief pause along their route. Most encounters happen outside the often-closed chapel. Because the interior is frequently unavailable, the exterior offers a quiet view of a protected cultural property.
